Sub Committee Reports
School Visitations and Survey Results
Both presentations centered on the same concerns: transportation, impact on the family unit, impact on student achievement, transitions, communication networks, class size, and loss of teachers.
Discussion on one time costs: moving of furniture and resizing of bathrooms to meet the needs of the new population.
School Visits: Both districts had compelling reasons to make the change; space and/or programming needs - Bradford Superintendent reinforced that she would not recommend that we do it for the sole reason of saving money.
At the conclusion of the discussion; the Committee decided to make a presentation to the Board of Education on 2/15/11 recommending that it could not determine a compelling reason, in addition to saving money, to move forward with such a restructuring of the Elementary Schools.
